The B-SMART® monitors the ability of a patient to detect and respond to a timed series of vibratory and auditory stimuli. It evaluates the neurological status of an awake patient during conscious sedation or regional anesthesia.
B-SMART® consists of 2 components; the finger unit is placed on the contralateral side of the patient. When the finger unit vibrates, the patients stops the vibration by manually pressing on it. At the same time, the B-SMART® emits an audible alert which can be heard by attending staff. When the finger unit is pressed, the auditory alert will end.
Set for 30, 60 or 120 second repetitive time signals.
